The trusted leader in servers, HP, announces the first ProLiant AMD tower server designed for small and medium businesses. A true server at a desktop price, the new HP ProLiant ML115 is packed with the essential features to keep pace with a growing business.
In addition, HP announced today support for more energy-efficient processor technologies to reduce the power and cooling costs of growing server environments. HP announced support for 50W Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor L5320 processors for the ProLiant BL480c, BL460c, DL380 G5, DL360 G5, and DL140 G3 servers and support for 68W AMD OpteronTM processors Model 8218 HE and Model 2218 HE available in ProLiant BL685c, BL465c, DL385 G2, and DL365 servers.

ProLiant Servers – 100 Series
The new HP ProLiant ML115 delivers the latest AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon™ 64 processors, an upgraded Lights-Out 100c Remote Management Card (optional), multiple PCI and PCI Express expansion slots, advanced ECC memory, and four hard disk drive bays. The HP ProLiant ML115 also offers SATA RAID 0,1,5 from the embedded system board controller, providing customers another performance/data security option. Smaller chassis and desktop acoustic levels make the ProLiant ML115 ideal for office environments.

The HP ProLiant DL140 G3 server, an affordable 1U, dual processor capable platform, now supports new Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor L5320 (1.86GHz, 50W, 1066 MHz FSB), giving customers another choice for greater computing power.
ProLiant Servers – 300 Series
The HP ProLiant DL380 G5 server, the best selling server in the world, is now available with the new Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor L5320 (1.86GHz, 50W, 1066 MHz FSB), helping customers save on processor related electricity costs in their datacenter and reduce processor cooling requirements in their IT infrastructure.
The HP ProLiant DL360, the world's best selling 1U server, now supports the new Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor L5320 (1.86GHz, 50W, 1066 MHz FSB) to deliver even greater performance as a customer’s business grows.
The HP ProLiant DL320s, a server optimized for storage server, offers high-end performance at an entry level price. It now supports CTO chassis with 1 power supply and 2 rear drive option, helping customers lower business risks by enabling them to arrange data more efficiently.
The HP ProLiant DL385 G2 server now supports the new AMD Opteron processor Model 2218 HE 2.6GHz with 2MB L2 cache, 68 Watts, keeping the costs of energy more manageable for customers.
The HP ProLiant DL365 server now supports the new AMD Opteron processor Model 2218 HE 2.6GHz with 2MB L2 cache, 68 Watts, delivering strong compute capabilities but keeping the power envelope under control.
HP BladeSystem
The HP ProLiant BL685c Server Blade, the densest 4P server blade available, now supports the new AMD Opteron processor Model 8218HE 2.6GHz with 1MB L2 cache per core, 68 Watts, filling out the HP portfolio for powerful, energy efficient server blades.
The HP ProLiant BL465c Server Blade now supports the new AMD Opteron processor Model 2218 HE 2.6GHz with 1MB L2 cache per core, 68 Watts, helping keep the power consumption within the data center more manageable.
The HP ProLiant BL480c Server Blade is now available with the new Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor L5320 (1.86GHz, 50W, 1066 MHz FSB), delivering maximum compute power in an energy efficient server blade solution.
The HP ProLiant BL460c Server Blade is now available with new Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor L5320 (1.86GHz, 50W, 1066 MHz FSB), for customers who need more compute power without more heat.
The HP ProLiant xw460c Blade Workstation is now available with CTO and Factory Express capabilities. The blade workstation also supports NVIDIA Quadro FX560M MXM graphics. Let HP put it all together to help customers focus on their business, not on IT.
Management Software
The HP ProLiant Essentials Server Migration Pack - Physical to ProLiant Edition is an automated, accurate and affordable solution to migrate existing servers and their content to the latest server. The new server migration pack supports new no media licenses as well as a new 25-migration license.
The new version of HP Performance Management Pack (PMP) adds the VMware ESX and Microsoft Virtual Server monitoring support for virtual machine guests and makes PMP data storable in an Oracle 10g database. The HP Performance Management Pack also provides support for the newest ProLiant servers.
Hardware Options
The HP Smart Array E500 is HP's entry level, external connect PCI Express (PCIe) Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) RAID controller. The controller offers RAID 0, 1 and 0+1 and can be upgraded with the Battery-Backed Write Cache (BBWC) module for RAID 5. This Smart Array is ideal for customers who need a low cost, external connect for HP ProLiant servers to tape, and Modular Storage Arrays (MSA).
The NC364T adapter features four 10/100/1000T Gigabit Ethernet ports on a single card, saving valuable server I/O slots for other purposes. The four ports provide the highest port density available for ProLiant servers in a single PCI Express network adapter. The NC364T is ideal for virtualization, security, server consolidation, network segmentation, and other applications requiring maximum throughput and port density. The total aggregate throughput of 4Gbps meets the needs for customers desiring high bandwidth but are not yet ready to move to 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
HP is expanding the portfolio of the SATA drive family by introducing small form factor 120GB 1.5G 5.4K rpms SATA hard disk drives. These new drives take up 70% less space and use 50% less power than the 3.5" drives to help customers manage energy budgets better.
The HP USB Floppy Drive Key offers a storage capacity of 256MB and 1GB and it supports both a USB 2.0 hi-speed mass storage device and a USB floppy drive. The HP USB Floppy Drive Key offers a simple, convenient solution for file transfer and storage for all customers, regardless of size.
High Performance Computing
The HP ProLiant HPC Partner Software Suite introduces an additional PGI Compiler and Cluster Development Kit, which follows on support agreements and adds Quad Core support and pricing from Altair Engineering - PBS Pro.
The hardware update of XC System Software V3.2 provides the support for the newest ProLiant servers and InfiniBand® Open Fabric. The HP XC System Software also introduces the inclusion of visualization infrastructure software.
